Epic Win for Manchester United against Liverpool

It was a classic match of footballing powerhouses, Manchester United winning against Liverpool 2-1! This long-awaited match had the magnificent Wayne Rooney a hero for United Fans in a match full of controversy, on and off the pitch.

First there was Patrice Evra versus Luis Suarez and their battle over racism, which was seen when they did not shake hands. This caused tensions to boil and it got pretty hot during the game Rio Ferdinand made a perfectly timed tackle on Suarez which riled his fans. However Kenny Dalglish signaled his Liverpool players to calm down and get on with the game. This did not prevent some squabbles in the tunnel during half-time though.

Later in the 2nd half, Wayne Rooney scored a brace 4 minutes apart. His 2 goals were the cushion needed to hold on for the win. Manchester United fans were delighted with the quickfire double over the bitter rivals!

In the last few minutes Luis Suarez scored for Liverpool from a free kick. This made the red devils pull back and go for the counter attack. Manchester United fans were able to hold off for the last few minutes of extra time for the win!

Paul Scholes is back!

Yup he's back in the squad pinging precision passes all over the pitch and scoring the opener just before half time. It's great news that the midfield maestro is back in the squad showing the young devils exactly how it should be done. Paul Scholes is pure class after he made a risky run forward that paid off handsomely! It's just a little weird that he's wearing number 22 now, but it's also a welcome sight.

Wayne Rooney: I can play anywhere!

Wayne Rooney played in the UEFA Champions League match versus FC Otelul Galati in an unusual position, right beside Anderson in midfield.

He had this to say from a quote on Manchester United's Official website.

“I played there a lot [in midfield] when I was younger. You get a lot of the ball there and we had to defend as well at times tonight. If the manager asks me to do it, I’m happy to do it. I don’t know if it’s long term, that’s down to the manager, so we’ll see what he decides.”

This positional change for Rooney is only temporary with Sir Alex Ferguson answering "Yes, I think so. We're just trying to organise our midfield a little bit. We've had injuries in that department. Michael Carrick's still injured, Tom Cleverley's still injured and we're spacing out Darren Fletcher's games. We can play Ji-sung Park in there but Ji's got an important role for us [against Sunderland] on Saturday."

Why does Chicharito score so easily?

Why does Chicharito score so many "easy" goals? Tap-ins, headers, and one-on-one's? When he's alone with the keeper you can already expect him to score! He was clocked as the fastest player among all the footballers at the last World Cup, but there's more to him than just being speedy. He is great in the air for a relatively short striker, especially in the Premier League. He can score with both feet, he is always making diagonal runs and quick to pivot and distract defenders marking him. He's got great composure in front of goal and he works for the whole 90 minutes. Acquiring him for 6 million was one of the best bargain transfers ever with his resulting goal scoring form in his first season alone, he earned his value.

He scores so easily because according to Rio Ferdinand it's all about his movement, his footwork is amazing!
"Not a lot of strikers make the sorts of runs he does.
"It's physically demanding — you have to be really fit to make those movements for 90 minutes.
"If I was a coach I'd tell every young striker that he should take note of how Chicharito plays, because that's what you have to do if you want to be a top footballer. It will certainly give you a head start.
"The other day I reviewed Chicharito's first goal against Bolton, when he ran across the front post and poked the ball in at the near post. "But before he made that run he made two other movements to shake off his defender. And when a striker makes those types of run, it's incredibly hard to defend against him.
"I think if I was a coach then I'd put that goal on DVD and I wouldn't even send my team out to train — I'd just make them watch that goal because that shows you all you need to know."

Check out the video to see his tricky moves just before he scores against Bolton.

Javier Hernandez moving to Real Madrid?

That boy Chicharito is a target for Real Madrid, if you are to believe some papers, he's got a £30million price tag on his head. Hopefully he stays and doesn't join Cristiano Ronaldo at the Bernabeu because he's such a great player and it would be a disaster to see him leave!

Stay away Jose!

John O'Shea transfers to Sunderland

That's right folks, the utility man John O'Shea has officially transferred to Sunderland to work with Manchester United's former captain Steve Bruce.

I will miss John's goal scoring forays into the forward position and seeing him guarding the net as a goalkeeper will be missed.

Farewell!
